But, anyway, a few random ones from 1x09 and also a bonus few of Sharpe - which is a grainy, hard-to-cap show that doesn't really lend itself well to colouring. All those greens, too. But, pretty.

Also, I was wondering if there are any people on my talented f-list who speak Spanish and would be willing to check over a few phrases for me for a fic I'm doing? I haven't actually written the Spanish bits yet, and it's literally going to be a line or two here and there, but I'm hoping to have them done sometime in January and haven't really got a clue!

I finally got round to watching the X-Files movie, the new one (well, I bought it for a friend who got two copies, then remembered I hadn't seen it so kept it) and was surprised by how much I enjoyed it. I mean, I loved the series, and though it was kind of odd, in its pacing and the quiet vibe to it all, not very like the series in many ways, I really, really loved it. It just seemed to work. I mean, I'm a sucker for slow, creepy crime thrillers filmed in snowy, abandoned landscapes anyway, and then there was the bonus of it being X-Files. Plus, David Duchovny! My slightly weird crush on Mitch Pileggi! CALLUM KEITH RENNIE! And Billy Connolly was pretty fucking good too, and I always love Amanda Peet. And Gillian Anderson has always been a fantastic actress, but she was really just knocking it way out of the ballpark. Okay, I totally fucking loved it. Plus the soundtrack was to die for.

Despite my huge, giant, and ever-growing love for Uther, I still only make his face orange, red and purple. And it's not an attractive look on him. So there's mostly Morgana, quite a bit of Merlin, and, for me, a shockingly small amount of Arthur!

I really didn't mean to make 69 icons, despite it being appropriate given how bloody slashy the episode was.

But there was so much pretty in this episode it was unreal - flicking through the caps, everybody looked gorgeous. I had to tear myself away. A lot of faces, as usual, mostly Arthur, Merlin, and Morgana, and some colouring experimentation, although nothing radical - I'm too lazy!

No Gaius and Uther this week, despite them being awesome last Saturday, because I always make them look orange or red or purple. Like they're choking. It's not good - but there is more Merlin than usual. I just have an obsession with his cheekbones, whenever I watch him at the moment I keep hearing "Cheekbone!" in my head like the magazine delivery in the Boosh. It'd be vaguely annoying if he wasn't so pretty.

Also, I have just joined merlin_las, the Last Author Standing community for Merlin, which sounds like it'll be fantastic fun and could use more sign-ups. I know loads of you are awesome writers so if you aren't a member, go see! I'm not expecting to last long, but I'm hoping the prompts will make me more disciplined. I am such a lazy writer.

Anyway, Merlin is great and you should all go watch it if you don't already.

And while you're at it, possibly go and see Brideshead Revisited at the cinema. I wouldn't recommend seeing it if you haven't either read the book or watched the original TV series, because it really doesn't stay close to the actual themes. But it's gorgeously, gorgeously shot; I covet all of Julia's costumes, and the scenes that they do stick to are really well done. Ben Whishaw is a fantastic Sebastien, possibly equalling Anthony Andrews, and Hayley Atwell was pretty amazing too. It made me want to go read the book and watch the series again, which I purposefully didn't before seeing the film. But I mean that in a good way.

First post in, like, forever! Just a few icons, I hadn't made any for ages after exams and so I'm getting back into them. Some of my fave Farscape episode, Batman because I love CB, Merlin which you all should watch, it's the cutest show ever, and finally I've made a measly two Brian icons for precious_rosie and shy_nerthuserce. Some Farscape and New Tricks icons. I'm still playing around with colour, so there are a few repeats to choose between. For Farscape, lots of Chiana! Also, I say New Tricks, but they're mostly Sandra, with one team and a couple with Jack. Capping that show takes ages - does anyone have any recommendations for a good program for capping?

So, this icon-making thing is kind of addictive! I doubt I'll ever be awesome like a ton of other people out there, but hey, it's not like it's a chore to sift through caps of gorgeous people!

Collateral Damage this time, which is one of my favourite episodes of S9/S10 Stargate, not just because it's Cam-centric (I actually prefer my SG-1 episodes to be Cam/team-centric) but because it's one of the only episodes of Stargate I've seen where I've got chills. The mirror bit? Nicely played. But, not amazing for caps, it has to be said. They get a little repetitive.
